Review this show

Ruth's Review:

This is another fantastic Scorsese-DiCaprio collaboration – I loved Gangs of New York and The Departed, and Shutter Island doesn’t disappoint.
It’s an intelligent thriller and although certainly not a horror film, it is pretty tense and scary in parts! It’s hard to know who to trust as, like good-cop DiCaprio, we start to think that the patients are the reliable ones, and the men who run the hospital and island are the criminally insane.
There are some stereotypical scare tactics – you’re trapped on an island, there’s a storm, escaped convicts on the loose, a mysterious lighthouse where ‘experiments’ are done...it would be cliché were it not for the superb acting and directing. Plus the plot keeps you guessing until the final amazing twist.
