Venue Hire

A 1930s Grade II listed building in the centre of Scarborough, opposite the railway station, the Stephen Joseph Theatre prides itself in providing a friendly, professional tailor-made service to put your event centre stage.

The theatre has hosted over 800 different events for a wide variety of local and national organisations.

There are 4 different spaces available for hire:

The Round*
The McCarthy*
The Boden Room
The Restaurant

Depending on availability, these spaces can be hired separately or as a whole and can used for many different events including:

  • Conferences
  • Seminars
  • Weddings & wedding receptions
  • Charity fundraising events
  • Christening Parties
  • Presentations
  • Special occasions - birthday, anniversaries, retirement parties

Catering

All your catering needs can be provided from tea/coffee to buffets and formal dinners.

We can create a buffet menu that suits your tastes and dietary requirements - our service is both personal and professional.

Access

The Stephen Joseph Theatre is fully accessible, with a passenger lift to all floors.

There are designated wheelchair spaces in both auditoria and disabled toilets on the ground floor and second floor.

The Round and The McCarthy have an infra red system and an induction loop and The Boden Room also has a loop system.
