As kids, Gerda and Kay shared adventures on an almost hourly basis. They’d live them, tell their friends about them, make up another and off they’d go. And one of those adventures was more amazing than all the rest. It went beyond the wood at the bottom of Kay’s garden, beyond the school – beyond even Scarborough – to a land of talking crows, singing flowers and a mysterious Queen on a throne of ice. In a word, it was unforgettable.

But not for Kay. He can’t remember a thing about it.

Not a problem you might think, but the mysterious Snow Queen vowed she would return one day to take her revenge on the boy who has forgotten her… and this Christmas, she’s back.

Aided by some old school friends, Gerda must re-tell the whole story to help Kay recall what happened. If he can’t remember before the first flakes of Christmas snow hit the seafront, Kay will fall under the wicked Queen’s spell forever!

Can she do it? Well, with the help of the wonderful Scarborough audience she just might!

The team that brought you all Treasure Island, Alice in Wonderland and A Scarborough Christmas Carol are back with a brand new version of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale.

Will it be ridiculous? Will there be brilliant songs? Will you look at reindeer in the same way again?

Yes, yes and possibly not. In that order.
