Teeming with the poorest people in London, Victorian-era Limehouse is a place filled with immigrants, and the most violent of criminals who prey upon them.

Their lives manage to somehow get worse when reports of a mythical Golem arise – a clay creature brought to life by its creator and controller – and it begins leave a trail of slaughtered victims behind it.

Inspector John Kildare (Bill Nighy) is the man tasked with ending this nightmarish series of events that have shaken the community of Limehouse to its core.

Following the trail from the courthouse to music halls and dangerous back alleys, celebrities like Dan Leno (Douglas Booth) are caught up in the whirlwind of carnage, as the case only seems to get bigger and more complicated.

Kildare must separate fact and fiction if he is to uncover the truth, and find the person – or the creature – responsible.

The stalwart Bill Nighy (Dad’s Army) plays the role of Inspector Kildare, with the acting talents of Olivia Cooke (Ouija) supporting as Lizzie Cree – a woman on trial for poisoning her husband. Fresh-faced Douglas Booth (Jupiter Ascending) takes the role of Leno, while Eddie Marsan (Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell) portrays Uncle.
