Full Synopsis

Rose-Lynn Harlan (Jessie Buckley) is an abrasive, short-tempered young Glaswegian from the wrong side of town. Having just been released from prison, Rose turns to her mother, Marion (Julie Walters), who has been looking after her two young children in her absence.

Rose has always loved country music, and once dreamed of making it big in America, performing to the masses in Nashville. Upon arriving back in the city, she sets her sights once more on the bright lights of stardom.

However, Marion has a strained relationship with her daughter and constantly berates Rose, demanding she put her children first for once. Rose begrudgingly follows her mother’s advice and takes a mundane job as a cleaner for Susannah (Sophie Okonedo) and her wealthy husband.

Singing as she works, Rose is approached by Susannah who talks up her talent, encouraging her to do all she can to pursue her dream. But as a young mother, at what cost will it come?

Jessie Buckley (Beast), Julie Walters (Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again), and Sophie Okonedo (Antony and Cleopatra) star in this enchanting musical drama, which explores the difficulties in balancing relationships with success.
